Past and Future

For over 20 years We have been in partnership with an incredible charity called Friends Of The Animals. They have helped us with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of costs, and continue to this day.

Young and old

At FARS we have an ageing animal population, which means ever-increasing veterinary costs. Friends Of The Animals currently finance 100% of our veterinary costs, so that our resident animals can live into old age as healthy and comfortable as possible.

Through Thick and Thin

Whether it is our vet bills, food bills, or maintenance costs, they have lived up to their name and supported us unconditionally – helping us through many crises and struggles through the years.

Humans and Animals

The charity also employ our Sanctuary Manager Ellie. This provides the sanctuary with stability and consistency, and means the animals will always have somebody here looking after them.

Friends of the Animals was founded in the Midlands in 1990 with a mission to help reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats in the area by launching an innovative spay and neuter program which offered financial assistance to those unable to afford the procedure. To date they have spayed/neutered in excess of 44,000 animals.

FOTA are now based in the Isle of Wight. They offer assistance to all creatures great and small including dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, farm animals, small furry’s, wildlife and birds.

In addition to their spay and neuter program, they assist in re-homing and utilise a network of cost effective foster homes alongside their adoption register.

They contribute towards the cost of veterinary treatment so that those on low incomes are able to care for their furry/feathered Companions – as well as running a pet food bank!
