Like farmed animals, pigeons are one of the UK’s most misunderstood and under-appreciated beings. Hundreds of free-flying pigeons call the sanctuary their home. Most of these have made their way here as ex-racers, injured adults found in towns, or hungry babies. We nurse them back to health or into adulthood, and then they live their lives as all birds should – flying free, eating as much seed as they want, and pooping where they like!
