Like farmed animals, pigeons are one of the UK’s most misunderstood and under-appreciated beings. Hundreds of free-flying pigeons call the sanctuary their home. Most of these have made their way here as ex-racers, injured adults found in towns, or hungry babies. We nurse them back to health or into adulthood, and then they live their lives as all birds should - flying free, eating as much seed as they want, and pooping where they like!

Our eldest sheep residents in the Blue Barn have a variety of food to keep them healthy. Their favourite is porridge, to which we add extra vitamins and minerals to keep them healthy. The sanctuary has over 300 sheep residents, with many of them elderly. Our oldest sheep currently is 20, which is almost 10 TIMES their commercial lifespan.
